On February 11, 2021, the US Mint is releasing the 2021-W Proof Silver Eagle, which is expected to be the last Proof American Silver Eagle to feature the coin’s original heraldic eagle reverse design. The 2021-W Proof Silver Eagles will be available individually and as part of the 2021 Congratulations Set.

NGC-certified 2021-W Proof Silver Eagles from the February release will be given a special attribution — Heraldic Eagle T-1 — to indicate that they feature the original reverse. Coins from the Congratulations Set qualify for a “Congratulations Set” attribution as well. The Early Releases and First Releases designations are available for coins received by NGC within the first 30 days of release.
Later in 2021, Silver Eagles with the new reverse design will be released, marking the end of one numismatic era and the beginning of another. The obverse featuring Adolph A. Weinman’s renowned “Walking Liberty” design will carry forward.
